FinNomad

FinNomad seeks to create a tool that provides financial and general quality of life advice to low-income immigrants. Our customer segment is low-income immigrants, the problem is that many of these low-income immigrants have poor financial literacy and miss opportunities to invest their money in the investment vehicles non-immigrant families do. Our solution is to create a digital tool that will provide low-income immigrants with user-friendly financial tips, guidance, and tracking.

Sizeable

Sizeable is a budget-friendly subscription-based service that provides and recycles fashionable baby and toddler clothes. Sizeable is solving a problem for parents with young children: buying proper clothes is expensive, time consuming, and wasteful because kids outgrow their current wardrobes quickly. The current shopping experience is also inconvenient, takes up too much time, and parents end up with a storage unit full of clothes.

KeKeHome

The product is a combination of Zillow, a home search software, and Homelight, an agent recommendation software, for Chinese-speaking customers who want to purchase homes in the U.S. The product translates the U.S. home listings to Chinese and adds some key metrics that Chinese prospective homebuyers care about, such as safety and education. The product uses an algorithm to recommend and connect buyers with agents of their choices. Upon successful purchases, customers can opt-in to management services such as maintenance, security, and leasing while they’re outside of the U.S.

Vanir is M1 Finance meets Yotta Savings: a portfolio marketplace that incentivizes safe and smart investing. While Vanir’s proprietary portfolios demonstrated superior returns compared to other roboadvisors, we allow users to invest in other professional portfolios they would not normally have access to. Like George Soros, we believe “good investing is boring,” so to make it fun for users, every $20 they invest in a custom portfolio provides them an entry into our weekly lottery. Many Americans have been gate-kept from wealth creation and intimidated by the financial markets, so Vanir wants to build our users’ knowledge as well as their wealth, including in-app education courses, net worth projection for retirement planning, and monthly seminars with world-renowned professors and key executives.

AnsweredMe

Answering machines nowadays don’t really give any answers. AnswerMe assists sales teams by qualifying inbound sales calls when there is no one available to answer. Our product enhances customer service for both calling customers and sales development teams.
Customer Problem: Start-up sales teams and Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs) alike are overwhelmed by the call volume they receive at all hours. Voicemails are left and never heard. Customers who are calling businesses to get help are not getting answers and SMBs who are overwhelmed are missing out on acquiring and retaining customers. Google reports that 39% of people who want to make a purchase frequently use the phone to call a business. Billions of dollars are lost due to this inefficiency, and a quick and affordable solution would save sales leads before they’re gone.
Our Solution: When a customer calls the company and no one is available to answer the phone, the AnswerMe platform sends a hyperlink over text to the customer, which opens a mobile browser website. The website’s easy-to-use interface with slidable data points and autofill technology facilitates data transfer to customizable fields. The data can be integrated with the company’s existing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. Customers are directed to the right department, a lead profile is created, and the interaction is smoother.

Gloveless

Gloveless is a soccer training analytics platform that generates insights through a piece of soccer training equipment that is a superior simulation of a goalkeeper in net compared to anything on the market, in order to keep practices and pickup games competitive and realistic. This device serves as a goalkeeper in formal practice settings in the instance that a team does not have enough goalies, one or more are injured, or the goalies are training on their own during a practice or scrimmage. It also works for informal settings like a pick-up game where there may not be enough goalkeepers to begin with, which results in either untrained field players substituting as goalkeepers in net or creating unique scoring rules to compensate for the lack of trained goalies, both of which result in a corrupted forms of the game and competition, making those sessions less productive and effective. It is customizable – i.e. adjustable and panels are removable – to accommodate different in-game situations.

Passable

We are seeking to improve security in pre-secondary schools by pairing smart software with device ubiquity. Security in K-12 schools relies on reactive responses, not proactive responses: despite the protocols and massive budgets, students and faculty operate under a false pretense that "nothing could ever happen," an attitude that ignores a growing number of school shootings and violent incidents in the US. Schools are demanding measures, whether policy, software, or protocols, that improve response time and decrease the passiveness of security in its current state.

UnifiHealth

50 million people work for small businesses across dozens of industries in the U.S., and they all have basically the same standardized health plan. Why? Do people who work lifting boxes all day have the same health issues as those who sit at a desk? Why aren’t people truly incentivized to get the $400 MRI vs. the same quality one at $4,000? We believe that small employers deserve affordable benefits that align with the health of their employees, so we are creating a new type of health plan to do just that.

EduStock

EduStock addresses two big problems: the financial burdens imposed by existing student loans and the financial barriers to entry posed by inflated credit risk and the institutional constraints that prevent investors from financing opportunities outside Corporate America. EduStock achieves this by refinancing existing student debt with income share agreements that allow millennials to pay off all their student loans in exchange for 5% of their income over 15-20 years. EduStock then packages 100-250 of these agreements into a diversified security that is then sold to institutional investors for a profit.
